9th Annual Brockway Truck Show Huge Success
The 9th Annual National Brockway Truck Show was a huge success! 103 pieces of Brockway history traveled the parade route to Main Street in Downtown Cortland, NY under the watchful care of the Cortland County Sheriff's Department and the Cortland City Police Department. Two live husky dogs owned by Frank Mitchell of Syracuse helped with the escort. The weather cooperated and gave us a most enjoyable day. The ever popular Brockway Exhibit by the Cortland County Historical Society was kept busy with hundreds of interested visitors.
The reunion luncheon at the Community Restaurant hosted 41 former employees and families and friends. If you know of some other former Brockway employees, spread the word - next year's luncheon promises to have some new ideas.
The fund raiser BBQ on Friday night was well attended and enjoyed by all as was the chicken BBQ and auction on Saturday evening. We even had some unexpected entertainment. The weekend continued with the Twin Tier Chapter of ATHS holding their 20th Annual Show at the museum site on Sunday.
If all this sounds like a fun-filled weekend plan to join us for the 10th ANNUAL NATIONAL BROCKWAY TRUCK SHOW, SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2009. Watch our website for futher details.
The committee extends a heartfelt "thank you" to everyone for their continued participation and support in our endeavor to complete the future home of the Brockway Truck Museum.
