With 11 successful shows under our belt we are anxiously getting ready for our 12th show.  Every year the show gets bigger and better and this year is no exception.  This year the show will be held August 11th through the 14th and will also include a handful of new activities.  This year the show will get kicked off one day earlier, Thursday, with a truck cruise to the Bass Pro Shop in Auburn, NY.  This "Huskie Drive" will start at 10:00 at the Museum with a planned arrival at Bass Pro at noon.  Then on Friday a BBQ dinner will be held at the Museum under the pavilion from 5 to 8.  Reservations are required.  The annual auction will start right at 8:00 followed by fireworks at 9:30.

The 'big day' is on Saturday with a parade from the Museum to Downtown Cortland.  The parade starts at 8:30 with trucks lining up in front of the Museum up to an hour earlier.   Two blocks of Main Street are sectioned off from regular traffic and trucks are parked from one end to the other.  As with years in the past, a Brockway Exhibit will be provided by the Cortland Historical starting at 9:00 followed by the SUNY Iron Pour at 10:00, the Diamond Someday Bluegrass band at 11:00 and awards at 3:00.  A chicken BBQ dinner will be held at the Museum starting at 5:00 which includes Former Brockway Employee Recognition as well.  As with the other dinner, reservations are required and can be made in advance via the contact form posted below.

2nd Annual Brockway Spring Fling

May 21st, 2011 at 10:00am

Although everyone looks forward to the yearly show in August, it always felt like something was 'missing.' The 12 months between the annual shows almost seems like an eternity, and before you know it the show has come and gone. So last year the Museum decided to test the waters and hold another event earlier in the year and call it the 'Spring Fling'. This one day event would be a time for everyone to get together, visit, catch up, sell, buy or trade parts, and check out the progress on the Museum. Well the event was so successful that they decided to turn it into an annual event!

Just what's so special about a Brockway Truck Show?

A few weeks ago, we received this article from Ed Eminson. For our readers who do not know Ed, he is a loyal Brockway enthusiast who makes the trip to Cortland for the Brockway Truck Show all the way from Australia! His article "tells the story" behind our annual truck shows and we would thought it would be great to share. Thanks Ed!

More after the break.

Donated 358 at the 2010 Auction

For this years 2010 auction, Peter Grimm has graciously donated another complete Brockway.  This years truck is a 358 model with a Cummins V8 and Roadranger transmission.  Being a former fuel truck for Citgo, the truck also comes complete with working pump and tank setup.

This truck runs and yards drives and stops and would make an excellent candidate for a restoration.  Also check out the rare quad headlights with were only used for a limited time by Brockway.

Well another year has almost gone by and here we are again preparing for our 11th Annual Show. This year the show will be held on August 13th and 14th.  This past year has been very busy for us and we are very proud of a number of accomplishments.  We had out 1st Annual Spring Fling which gave everyone time to catch up and visit before the big show.  Along with that we have been steadily making improvements to the museum and I'm sure you will be impressed with how much work has been completed since last years show.  And here were are again patiently counting down the days!!!

Like we mentioned before, if you have any interest in Brockway's, and can only attend one show, this is the one. You will not be disappointed!

The show kicks off with a pre-show barbeque fundraiser which will be held on Friday night from 5 - 8 right at the Museum. This is a good chance have a great meal and check out the how much progress has been made on the Museum. Please keep in mind the barbeque is prepay. All proceeds go to the Brockway National Museum Fund. Click here for more information.

After the barbeque, the auction will start right at 8:00 which will also be held at the Museum. The proceeds from the auction directly benefit the Museum. If you have anything Brockway related that you would contribute to the auction, please click here.

Following the auction we also have fireworks which is something new this year. Everyone enjoys watching fireworks in the summer so make sure you stick around to catch the show. The fireworks will start at 9:30.
