2nd Annual Clambake

Many of you may remember or have heard about the famous clambake that Brockway held every year in Cortland. After the succuess of last years clam bake, the BTPA board of directors has decided to host the 2nd annual clambake on July 20th at the museum.  This year will feature many improvements over last years event and we're sure a good time will be had by all.

14th Annual National Brockway Truck Show

The big show for the year will be held during August 8th through the 11th.

The 'Huskidrive' will again be held on Thursday with more details to follow.

On Friday the preshow fundraiser will take place from 5:00-8:00 directly followed by the auction. The fireworks will then take place at 9:30.

On Saturday the parade will start at 8:30 and proceed to Main Street. The show will run from 9:00 to 3:30 with the award ceremony held at 3:00. Another dinner will follow the show back at the Museum at 5:00 and will also include the recognition of Brockway former employees.

ANOTHER MILESTONE HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED IN BRINGING THE BROCKWAYS HOME........       154 Brockway trucks were registered for the 13th Annual National Brockway Truck Show held in August 2012 in Downtown Cortland plus the nine being held hostage at the museum.   Thank you to our corporate sponsors, our supporting sponsors, the truck owners, and all the volunteers who help out in so many different ways.

If you have ever had a chance to walk through the museum over the past year, you would notice there was a small poster hanging up that had a list of items required to finish the construction of the museum. Next to each item was a dollar amount associated with it. Although a number of grants had been obtained for such things as lighting improvements, etc., additional funding was still required to make the dream a reality. Well as of this week, it's official... 

Rescued - 30 Tons In One Haul

FROM THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD THURSDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 1927
 
In a predicament complete…..8½ tons on his 5 ton lorry, sunk almost to differential in soft earth, front axle resting on ground …this driver scarce could have been more hopelessly placed on the 1 in 4 grade between Leura and Katoomba. (100 miles west of Sydney)
 
A steam roller failed to help. Then another heavy lorry and the roller combined were unsuccessful.
 
Finally, a Brockway 4 tonner carrying 7½ tons, effected unaided rescue on first attempt. In reverse, at the lowest of it’s nine speeds, it lifted out the lorry with ease – actually ploughing a foot deep furrow for a space of 20 feet with the latter’s near side, locked front wheel. 

A total pull of 30 tons agreed the transport men standing by. (reliable witnesses confirm the report)

This Brockway is owned by Mr. Wright of Enmore. Recognised by regular drivers as the most powerful truck on the mountain run, it covered a distance of 30,000 miles in the first nine months – the only replacement expenses amounting to 5/- repairs to 10/-. It habitually carries 7 ton loads.
