Back in the day.....

Postby dockmen027 » Sun Jan 12, 2014 4:47 pm

Here is another scene from yesteryear thanks to the digital darkroom, could be from the late seventies or early eighties, of a Brockway shop doing regular service work and rebuilding.

Good try with the digital dark room ! WOW the DEF didn't pass sharp eyes. Even the Cat engine looked like a 1693 to me, as I just had a rework on one cataract operation from March. Thanks !

Nice photo work John, looks like they do some major work in that shop. All Brockways I see. Might take a hundred years to complete that 360 frame on the far left! That broom will get some workout.

Another pic from the archives, not of a locomotive engine, but a 1693 out of the rebuild shop.

Here's another photo as a mechanic prepares to go out on a test drive after tuning up a Detroit, while other customers Brockways patiently wait their turn for service.

Couple more photos just discovered, looks like a pretrip inspection going on in the first, and on the road going after a load with the other.

Dave,
Don't know yet, but when it happens I'll make sure it has a brand new flasher, and a back up for when the first one overheats.......
