Break downs

My pickup (06 Chevy) decided to break down and leave me stranded on Wednesday evening. After getting a ride home, the 358 was called into action. Its pretty good when my 50 year old truck seems to be more reliable than my 06. Heres a photo when I got home. Also a photo from the day of the show 2 years ago, when my 361 blew up in Marathon with my friend driving. It was super hairy getting it loaded, but it did the job. Unfortunately, that truck never saw the road again.

Just proves you need more Brockways and less Chevs.

The sending unit in the fuel tank rotted out and it was sucking air. Crazy it happened when i was almost back to my house on a 2 hour round trip to my engine builders shop. It stumbled a few times, and died. That was all she wrote.

Wow, that must have been a hard one to diagnose... I would have never guess the line inside the tanks rusted, Those earlier Durmax's didn't have lift pumps in the tank either.

I suppose I got somewhat lucky and some fuel was dripping down the side of the tank, so I had a bit of an idea where I needed to look.
