My wife and I went for our first ice cream run a week ago to get the dust off Stick Mixer and noted a few, bothersome issues.
1) the alt belt has always loosened up due to a bent pulley behind the vibration dampener.
Cause: rust corrosion between the pulley and mount hub. ( replaced, done!)
2) oil running down out of exhaust port... or so I thought.
Thinking big problem... we’ll turns out one of the Jake brake terminal pass throughs was loose and running down the back side then down on the exhaust manifold. Replaced it, silicone it a little to seal threads , installed new valve cover gaskets.
3) changing all fluids even though I only have put less than 1000 miles on over the last two years.
4) i did a couple weeks back, changed a pesky rear wheel seal, that had made a mess of my left rear brakes, so I did both and installed new shoes hardware and rebushed the s cam shafts.
5) next is to tackle the some of the small tranny drips... at least it won’t rust underneath
