When they introduced the 360 in 1968, Brockway's advertisement had a picture of a 360 with double headlights on each side, similar to the 257's and 260's of the 60's.

When did Brockway switch over to single headlights on the 300 series?

Thanks,

Tom

Someone mentioned that it looks like they used 257 fenders on the truck in the advertisement... They sure look wider than typical 300 series fenders!

Tom My 361 is a 1968 model year.It has single headlights. It was bought by Town of Covert New York as a single axle dump plow truck with fronr and right side wing plow. The early 359's had 4 headlights and flat steel dash like the 200 series trucks.

Bumper does not look correct on picture posted. Too narrow.

Tom, I think you’re right about the 257 fenders.

The bumper is right, the fenders are wrong. They are indeed 200 series in my opinion. They were made for the narrower grill of 200.
I always understood that the 300 went to single headlights in 1968.

I think the 300 Series started with the 358-359 in 1966 they had 4 headlights. They made the 257-260 Series until 1967 and 1968 was the first year for the 360-361 Series I thought. I have a 1967 260 and 1968 361has 2 headlights is why these are my thoughts.

Thanks for everyone's replies! I'm guessing some of the very early 68 models may have used double headlights but then they quickly switched over to singles. The reason I asked is because I thought Russ' truck may have originally come with doubles. Joe, the serial number of your 361 is 500 less than the 360 so it makes senses that the 360 has singles.

Tom
