Some of the "Brockway Women" and myself wanted to do something fun on Friday since some people will be heading into town Thursday for the HuskieDrive. We would like to know who/how many people would be interested in going for a ride, in your vehicle or carpooled is suggested, to Aurora, NY to visit the MacKenzie-Childs studio, shop, and gardens. We will leave the museum at 9:30 am and take a very scenic drive north on Rt 41A to Skaneatles then west on Rt 20 towards Auburn. This is a difficult left turn so we will regroup in the Cedar House parking lot on the right at the top of the hill. Then south on Rt 90 to the shop at 3260 St Rt 90. One way trip is about an hour. We will tour the house at 11:00am and give time to walk the grounds and browse the gift shop. We will then head south on Rt 90 a bit and stop in the small town of Aurora for lunch. A good recommendation is the Fargo Bar & Grill but there is also the Aurora Inn, a bake shop, and a Wine & Cheese shop there and a little further south is the Pumpkin Hill Bistro located at 2051 Rt 90. Then continue south on Rt 90 towards Cortland, and there are many Wineries and Dairies you can stop at along the way on your own.
Let's get your thoughts and opinions.

My wife just read your post and said "Sounds Good".
Figured she would when you mentioned the words "Gift Shop"!!!! Knowing her she will find a couple of antique shops on the way back also.
You can plan on 2 people as her "Rebel" girlfiend is coming with us to tour CNY after the show.

Thanks
Brocky

OK so there is a big 4 going to Macenzie Childs and a winery or two. Woohoo!! All are welcome. There is a $2.00 charge at Long Point Winery for tastings.

Also, there will be a special recognition certificate given to all Charter Members who renew for the 2012-2013 year. There is a place for a picture of your truck, it can be one I already have in my computer or it can be taken Friday or Saturday by Peter or myself. If you do not own a truck it can be a truck of your choice or any picture you wish. NONE will be mailed so you must attend the show and see me early to get it all printed and framed for you to take with you.

I appreciate all the people who joined BTPA and CNYLHC memberships and have helped financially and physically to get the museum to where it is today, but please keep in mind the project is far from done and we need to be able to keep the doors open. We will be asking for more financial support this weekend but please remember we are where we are because of your generosity. There will be raffles, dinners, the auction, a fully stocked gift shop and Main Street, buy a brick & block, and a new campaign of the "quarter million mile march" which just collects quarters or any multiples there of.

Check out the new shirts available for the Grand opening of the museum, June 8, 2012 and the bright red and garnet 100th year anniversary of Brockway motor trucks.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Susan

It does look like my wife is going to make it.
Her girlfriend had her shoulder replaced last Tuesday and cannot come along, so Nelle has decided to stay home with her.
