Hello all. Thought I would get a few pics up of the 459 with the V12 we saved in Texas. The truck is a 1970 with a V12 natural and a 13 speed. It was bought brand new in south carolina and driven for a few years on select runs until 1978 where original owner parked it, and bought a newer truck. My dad was contacted by seller asking if we would like to buy engine out of a cabover, we went and dug our way through Texas thorns, spiders, snakes and mad dogs. When we got up to truck we couldn't believe it was a brockway cabover with a v12. After 3 bull chains snapping, and a ton of pushing with the bulldozer it came free. Now at shop saved from scrap, he was waiting for scrap price to rise, and was going to sell engine to a shrimper in galveston for his boat. I'll get more pics up as I resize them.

Good deal. Same basic cab as F-Model Mack. Now all you have to do go to West Texas,New mexico or Arizona. You should find a rust free cab there just switch out interior and emblems. Joe D.

Nice find, Stephen
She ought to look good once all done up. Must of been a sharp unit at the time and well optioned. AC, alum tanks, alum wheels, etc. Nice paint scheme too.
Best of luck Clay

Nick, it has a 13 speed RR. From pics it looks very rough, but got the real story from brother of owner. After bought new it was driven on gravy runs for a few years which matches the 58000 miles on odometer the parked in back of property where the heavy tree sap held all water on roof and rotted down. No rust from frame up. Owner then bought a new truck with a cummins and new bells and whistles. Odometer matches engine wear, no wear on bridges or rockers, blowers still have casting on rotors( hasnt worn off like a high mileage truck), gear train is like new. Goal is to at least get it to Cortland in 2012 before cab it swapped.

These trucks are so rare that they get cut up

Another reason is because the cabs never lasted!!
