"And now for something completely different... Monty Python's Flying Circus"

For picture of the week I have a great pic of a tilt nose 1975 761 that I took at the ATHS show in West Springfield. I still like the butterfly hoods but really have a thing for these tilt noses... It's owned by Edwin and Andrew Preiser and is serial #86796. I'm not sure what power it had... Does anyone else know?

I've only ever saw 761 tilt hoods. I remember seeing a post on here before that Dane was talking about that 760, it originally started out as a 761 tilt hood hat someone moved the axle forward and redone the hood.

I typically prefer the look of original bumpers but this one adds an interesting look. Both rugged and effective.

Paul, I'm with you. That bumper is really aggressive looking! I like it!! Great color too.

Given the scarcity of factory bumpers, I think that is a great alternative. I love the deep red color, but my personal choice would be to break the mono color scheme with a stripe or colored roof panel. All in all, I think that it is a very nice truck.

Its a nice truck but I dont thing I' ve really every seen a tilt hood . I agree with the last post The red is nice but I think it would look even better as a two tone. Maybe with a some black or sliver or white even . :D

I'm not big on the tilt noses, but man, does that make me look at ours in a different light

I looked at this truck up close yesterday with Bigdogz. It's a 350 cummins with a 10 speed. Andy said the color is American Lafrance 1948 red(maybe he said ward lafrance, once you burn the brain cells i don't think you get them back?)here's a vid.

I like the look of butterfly also, but when you young bucks get a little older and run them often the tilt is nice :)

Andy, I would name this truck: Hot Topic ! It's generating alot of comments for just "your average" tilty. Nice truck. If your happy with it, nothing else matters.

Anyone else notice the grille insert? looks like it is broken where the center section joins the outside edge. Not trying to pick the truck apart.

Jeff,
Your right, not sure why they did it because the hood and hinges and radiator look to be the same as our tilt hood. The previous owner attached the grille insert to the radiator and that does not tilt with the hood. It does allow a person to fit up in there when the hood is up?.....Brian

Oh I see what you mean, it makes sense.

It'll also allow tilting the hood with the plow frame on the truck.

OK Now I see that the 2 attachments to the bumper are plow mounts, NOT tow eyes.

Ok that makes sense now I also thought they were the tow eyes . Back when my dad and grandfather were in the trucking bussiness we did have the same kind of set up on the bumpers on a couple of the trucks .We used them as tow eyes .
