3 MONTHS HARD WORK, AND STILL, IT SEEMS ENDLESS. THE FRAME AND AXLES ARE DONE, AND ALL NEW BRAKES, DRUMS AND SEALS INSTALLED TOO. THE ENGINE IS FINISHED ALSO. SINCE THESE PICS, I PURCHASED AN 11 FOOT LIVING QUARTERS TO GO ON THIS TRUCK, ONLY TO FIND MY FRAME TO SHORT. RATHER THAN CUT THE FRAME IN THE MIDDLE AND MOVE THE DIVERS BACK, I HAVE REMOVE THE AIR TAG FROM IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS, ADDED 6 FOOT OF FRAME ON THE REAR OF THE TRUCK, AND INSTALLED THE AIR TAG BEHIND THE DRIVERS. THIS ALLOWS ME TO STILL HAVE THE SHORT TURNING RADIUS WHEN EMPTY, AND THE TAG IS IN THE AIR. I COULD NOT FIND FRAME ANYWHERE TO MATCH THIS TRUCK, SO I WENT TO RIVERS METAL IN LINCOLN, AND THEY MADE ME THE PERFECT RAILING. WHAT I LACK, IS BLASTING THE CAB, AND PAINTING IT. INSTALLING THE SLEEPING QUARTERS, ADDING THE GENERATOR AND HOLDING TANK. SO MANY HAVE HELPED, THE NEW FLOOR BOARDS FROM MACK FIT PERFECTLY. THIS IS A GREAT SITE, AND I ENJOY SHARING THIS TRUCK WITH EVERYONE. KEN

This will be a working Brockway. July first, I meet up with the Small's harvesting group, and will be hauling grain from the feilds to the elevators, all over the midwest, and southern states. I have a new 42 foot hopper bottom that I will be pulling with it. The former owner said this truck will be on vacation now, as the load i am pulling is nothing to what he pulled with it. He used the truck to haul 110 ton steel beams for bridges, He stated that the biggest gross weight he ever pulled with this truck was 287,000 pounds. He further stated that this truck was the toughest, best truck he ever owned. Wow!!! roll on BROCKWAY!!!!. I'll take some working pics of the truck and post them during the summerand fall. KEN

Been trying for a couple days to post these "borrowed" photos from the ATHS's "Road Kill Cafe" with no luck.

Finally!

The poster said the photos come from Mobile AL.

Ken
Thank you for the update on your truck.

I saw the pictures Dockman posted on the ATHS website (which is down for repairs until Sunday 2/26 0900) aths.org // discussion forums // Road Kill Cafe // Old trucks Earning their Keep topic back about 2-3 pages from current.

Via that topic I have your mailing address and will be sending you a "formal" invitation to bring it to Cortland this August for our 100th Anniversary celebration. I realize now that it would be during your busy season, BUT everyone at BPTA sure would appreciate your finding the time to come east.

Thanks
Brocky

Brian, check the name on the door of your 758! Does the blue paint and the square headlights ring a bell?

Seeing this post reminds me of a story I need to share. Back about 6 yrs ago I was in Sikeston Mo. ( I-55 between ST. Louis and Arkansas state line) We have a terminal there (USF HOLLAND). It was the week after our annual show and i had the NEW T shirt on with John Potters 360 on it. As I walked out to the ready line I met a guy named KEITH GREY. He was domiciled out of this terminal and was on his way to Mobile, Alabama. I was on my way to Memphis,Tn. He said, "NICE BROCKWAY" YEAH? "YOU SHOULD SEE IT FOR REAL" I told him I needed to get going and if i get a Mobile load out of Memphis we'll have breakfast and talk some more. Well i beat feet to the terminal and did get my Mobile load and was headed south. When I got there he was just getting out of his tractor. We did our paperwork quick and we both had a BOBTAIL RACE to the hotel. So @ Breakfast I said " What do you know about BROCKWAYS?" "FIRST TRUCK I EVER DROVE" He said was a 75 or 76 761 with a 318 in it. Well where was this at I replied. I guy I worked for had 4 or 5 in Missouri. I knew who it was before he told me. He said his was White and told him that I saw the pictures of it wrecked, but that happened after he left. He did have alot of stories about working there, how heavy they'd run and so on. And Stories About KEN. All i can say is if they are true I admire you "KEN SMALL" What a great morning I had Talking about my favorite subject. Imagine wearing some type of brockway memorabilia and the stories you may find out here!

Bigdogz is correct, we have 758 that if you look close under the door says beamer enterprises(would have prefered they took decal off before painting it). It's obvious same guy worked on both trucks, square headlights(i didn't do it rz). Kyle nice story-surprised you could belly up to computer after the cruise food for a week. Ken-just curious how you went about the tilt hood you came up with. Did you build it from scratch?doesnt look like it has the bump out where reinforced on our tilt hood........Brian
