Well it's raining up here in West Springfield so we're hanging out in the hotel room waiting for the rain to stop... So here is a link to all the Brockways we saw between Thursday and Friday!

Tom, nice pic's! I had a good time with you and your dad Friday. To everyone that could not make it on Friday, Tom's power point presentation on the restoration of his Brockway 154 was very interesting, informational, and well done. Pokey

Jeff, the last number that I heard was just shy of 900 trucks and they were still coming in at around 1pm. Green Giant2, sorry I didn't get the name on the 761 tilt nose [way too many trucks to look at in one day] but it looked to me to have a Mack cab with an air bag under the rear cab support. At any rate someone did a lot of work on this truck. Maybe someone else has more to add. Pokey

Hey GG2 the red tilt nose is Andy Preiser's. He reads this board but doesn't write on it. Bumper is a bit big for me, and not stock. Can't wait to show my latest acquisition, all original, at the Grand Opening next weekend. We had it running for the first time today.

My father and I went up friday and had a great day, met up with alot of the usual suspects and had the pleasure of meeting Mike Harbison and his son. Thanks to "the patriot" for hooking us up with some rain ponchos which unfortunately were necessary for saturday. Was looking to catch up with Clay and others saturday but with the rain we took off early. Met up with bigdogz and Paul from LI with the red and gold 361 at the bar friday night, so saturday morning was a little hazy :). Nice looking trucks Andy

p.s. any pics of sam's huskiteer firetruck? I saw him but not the truck

As the Script Editor mentioned the red tilt nose 761 belongs to Andy Preiser. He told me that the cab was retrofitted to mack, but that is NOT true. There are too many Mack features and why would someone want to change a Brockway to a mack. The dash board is all mack, but the giveaway is the brake pedal. Brockway suspended their brake pedal whereas mack hinged it on the floor. The seat mounts are different. Susan and I have chased several 700 series, only to find that they had an r model cabs. The fiberglass tilt nose does not fit against the r model cab and someone noted in a previous post that the hood didn't fit correctly.
The tractor is really a half breed but is still welcome at the National Brockway Truck Show in August. The rest of the truck is clearly Brockway.

The T&L Carriers Brockway pickup that was on the flatbed with the red 758 is listed for sale on craigslist.

It seems this thread has gone astray. I feel it was a nice gesture for the the board and others to make the late William and Edwin Preiser's truck the profile truck for the 100th anniversary(guess we all voted). Why run there other truck down when we should be trying to promote the positives and get more first timers who may have half breeds, rat rods etc. to show up!...... Brian

Since it was mentioned several 700 series have been seen with Mack cab's,i wouldn't bash a truck for having one.A solid cab is better than no cab until the correct one could be had.At least a truck like that can be enjoyed for the time being.Mack truck's and parts seem to be had much easier.

i dont care who you are, you just dont bash other people's trucks. SOME of us dont have alot of money to put into a truck that is just for SHOW. it is in the eye of the beholder in how there truck looks. personal matters should not make you belittle some one who works hard on there truck to enjoy the sport. and if it is a half breed thats fine. does that make my truck one if it has some different parts in it. Do and Say onto others as you would have them DO unto YOU.

It seems a number of people have misinterpreted the above response. The truck in discussion is not Edwin Preiser's 1942 Brockway, it is his nephew's N761TL. He personally told me that the cab was converted from Brockway to a mack. I don't have a problem with that as one of my trucks has a mack cab. My problem is mis truths. As I said I have viewed Brockways with mack cabs and don't have a problem with that as mack cabs are available. The above post mentioned the hood didn't fit correctly and that is what I was responding to, not bashing a restoration using available parts.
We are all trying to save as many Brockways as possible, just keep it straight.

I appreciate my good friend Glen's diffusing the situation but the only thing I misinterpreted was mixing up the Preiser Brother's name which i edited(sorry). It was stated Andy doesn't post on here and there was no mistruth's put on here by him personally.....Brian
