Just a note for all of us to keep Peter in our thoughts and prayers as he undergoes surgery to repair his bad back on Tuesday the 15th. Get well soon Peter!

I saw that Susan posted on facebook, that he had some nerve damage, and went through 5 hours of surgery. He was in the ICU his evening.

Yes, Jeff. Thank you. I was able to sleep 6 hours straight last night after 6 hours the night before also. Long day yesterday. I did doze a bit but almost fell out of the chair. LOL. By 8:30pm last night I decided to got back to the room to get some sleep. He was in a lot of pain and what ever they gave him made him sleep. He did manage to keep up his sense of humor and told me he would pass on going out to dinner. I think maybe for a few days. That hospital has great food, Eggplant Parm was delicious. I think I will catch the 7:00 or 7:30 am shuttle to hospital and keep everyone posted. Below is what I posted on facebook.

I am with Peter A Grimm at the University of Miami Hospital. His surgery was 5 hours and the doctor said it went well but he did see quite a bit of nerve damage. Peter was in a lot of pain but sleeping now. He has so many tubes coming out of him, a bit scary but he will spend the night in ICU. Long day, we got here at 5:15 am. Thanks for all your wishes and prayers.

Thanks again everyone,
Susan

Peter is doing much better but still sleeping a lot due to medications. You all know since he is not posting on here or answering his other emails that he is not normal, but is he ever? He will be moving to a rehab facility hopefully by Monday. When he does walk now, the pain down the leg is significantly less.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers,
Susan

Thanks everyone for your get well wishes. The first 48 hours were the worst pain wise ever in my life, but today things were much better. I am able to walk the corridors and will be transferred to a higher level physical therapy somewhere else.
Still planning on being in Cortland for June 7.
