Hi everyone!!
This is the day that we wait for having a piece of your project ready for paint. A lot of time in to it and finally primed the cab completely. The plan is to paint it Sunday and spend the next two days cleaning the shop and looking over the body and 320 and 400 sandpaper you know the feeling that once you get past this step you could start to put the cab back together. And then I can install my new steering wheel and work on the gauges.
 Thanks for looking Tony. :D

Looking real good" Master" Tony!!

So what about the sleeper? Are you going to put that on this?

I would hate to start messing with all the fine work that you have done on the back of the cab at this point.

Keep up the nice work! :D

Looks Good Tony! Last sheet metal I painted I did 320 dry, 400 wet then 600 wet. Some people say it's overkill to go to 600 on primer, but when I painted my wheel horse hood I only went to 400 and you can see primer scratches through the clearcoat. I was much happier with the outcome of 600 wet on top of the 400. Just at thought! -Ted

Thanks stretch!
Yes the sleeper is going on the truck. And yes I do have to cut the back of cab.
I know it might sound crazy but I have a plan to drive this Brockway from Florida to Cortland next year. Next year is the grand opening of the museum.
I get this adrenaline rush every day that's what keeps me going. I am not pushing myself hard I am just keeping a slow steady pace. My friends and family think I'm crazy.
I tell them its okay if you want to be a couch potato that's your privilege.
I am a truck driver mechanic and I want to feel like a truck driver mechanic.

 Thanks Ted for the tip!
I am not using a base coat clear coat paint finished. I am an old school body man I will be using acrylic enamel paint job 400 grit paper is good enough for acrylic enamel that I am using. Anyway base coat clear coat paint is double $$$$$$.
Thanks Tony

Hi ! Tony
I"ve been watching you progress on your 358 ! Looking good !
I found a site for paint at fairly reasonable prices in NJ.
http://www.paintforcars.com
Check it out and also read the testimonials !! See the colors and tips some of the people
wrote about ! You might find it interesting!!
I"m looking forward to next Cortland!! You and Glen will be a two man team operation!!
Who gets to use the sleeper first???? Tell Terry hello!!!

It is nice when you have a good day. :D Open up the shop after eight weeks of being close.
My friend Scott who is a professional body in fenders repair man came over to do some body work for me. Hopefully will be putting some paint on Saturday.
While he was working on the fenders I was putting on paint remover stripping the hood.
Here is a quick update on where I left off. Thanks Tony

Looks great! Your truck and the Millard's project are my motivation for fixing up mine. I really appreciate all the time and hard work you're putting in. I'm trying to catch up but you guys got a good jump on me.

I always say it’s good to have a good day in the shop. Especially my new helper as 25 years experience he moves like a butterfly. He went over the whole body and fix up a few spots that I had missed and then put down three coats of primer. Tony

Well it finally warmed up here in Florida.
The day I been waiting for to get some paint on the cab.
It actually looks better then in the pictures. My camera is six years old and the lends is all scratched up. (Time to buy a new one.
Monday I will be putting paint on fenders and getting hood and grilles shell ready.
Thanks for looking. Tony

Here is an update on the 358 last weekend after a year of being in the shop.
I started to up and pulled it out into the daylight when the sun shined on the black paint I didn't like what I have seen. So I sanded it down with 1200 and water and going to shoot a couple coats of clear on it. I am trying my best to really do a good job and make it look good so now is the time to straighten things out before it's too late.
Here are a few pictures. Thanks Tony

Looks great Tony!! Might want to reconsider paint scheme. You could be mistaken for a lay-about Gold-bricker.
