I'm in CT,on the MA line(near I-91).I grew up riding in Brockway's,my grandfather drove them(for Pioneer Dairy)and would like to buy one.Looking for a complete truck that i can fix up slowly.I'll consider any year or model.Let me know what you have, thanks.

Hmm, a 358 Pioneer Diary or the 776?

Shawn, congrats on the truck! Did anyone take pics at the pioneer dairy auction? I was there and might have but i have burnt too many brain cells since then and can't find them. My wife bid on the dodge tanker truck which was absolutely mint. Hard to imagine i didn't bid on single brockway?Times have changed!Post some pics it was a cool lineup that day!

I went to the auction, hung out with some guy named Clarence. The Dodge tanker was nice and I think went for $3200. I took a roll of film and will put up a new thread sometime when I get a chance. I also got the auction flyer.

Mike,
Sounds good, guy who got the dodge probably wasn't too impressd with the auctioneer,my wife stopped at $3k and the he said i got your next hundred young lady. My father in-law was going to use it to haul sap,he does about 500 gal syrup on avg. Do we want to know what happened to the best 776 that was apart(i think i blocked it out). I didn't know any of the "usual suspects" back then(guess i was trying the sniper technique),sears oil auction was like a brockway who's who as well.Almost as many guys as "spring fling" :)

There was a twin to that Dodge,it had a gas engine though. They were both owned by another relative of mine.He sold one to the dairy and the other sat out in his field until the late "80's/early "90's?

I'm hoping somebody out there can help me find an early 70's 361 with a 12V. I had one some years back and let it go . Now I'd like to get one back if possible. My son and I farm and have a few JD two bangers that we tinker with ,but we've decided if we're going to restore something then we'd rather it was a Brockway. I'm really hoping one of you can point me in the right direction.

The 361 with a 12V Detroit is a very sought after combination, making it quite scarce and very pricey. I would suggest you look for the same truck with an 8V. There are a lot of nice examples out there for reasonable prices. Stan

cbpettit, Stan is correct scarce and pricey, if you decide a 361 would be more econimacly feasible I know of a 361 dump, a361 huskidrive, and sears oil #30 all are local. Where are you located?? If you would consider any of these I will be glad to get you the contact info, good luck Paul
