I wouldn't say that they are always out. 2.30AM eastbound 84 rest area in P A the other morning below 30 degrees pulling trucks in. I have been checked more in the middle of the night than day time.

Ahh they've been up there almost every week lately; you can always tell when they are because my CB starts going off like crazy when you get to within a mile or two

I think Vermont has some snazzy DMV pickups.

Im guessing this is the westbound rest area on that stretch of 90 between route 9 and 787. I went by there last night at 2.30AM on the east bound lane . Rest area was all dark and looked gated. Did our great state shut it down or are they rebuilding it?. Frank

It's one of those cost saving measures, I think there is one closed also on I-88 past Oneonta.

The one on I-90 has been closed a couple years now, right after they installled the fancy solar powered lights, sign, cameras, scanners, etc. It was open Thursday morning for a DOT check, but not as often as exit 9 in Clifton Park, which seems to be open every day for DOT checks.

It doesn't take a nice day for Clifton Park to be open, they seem to be always there, rain or shine. Today was a Big Event, plenty of help, and a lot of "Writing" going on. I was one of the lucky ones, got the windshield sticker and one for the trailer. Now, we won't have to take another route, "just in case".........

Well, I was wearing my Brockway hat that day, but I didn't think of whipping out the Tablet and putting the Inspector to sleep with old truck pictures.........
