srdd rockwell parts needed

Looking for rear diff or parts 6.44 ratio. My top ring and pinion is shot. I won't know about the bottom until they get it out.

I cannot help you out on the parts except try Truck Parts Inc. Scranton,Penna.I have a 1970 KW with SRDD Rears Rockwell dropins with 5.86 ratio I think.They are 44,000 I always wondered why they used 44,000 drop ins instead of front loaders. I guess double reduction a bit tougher.?

Frontier Truck parts in MI may have something. they had a freightliner axle housing with chalmers brackets on their shelf, so anything is possible.

I believe the part # you are looking for is A10-3889-L-272 gearset. They are pretty hard to find but they are still out there. The problem will be getting one for an affordable price. Good Luck, Ken.

Don't rule out the world of cut-offs in your search. May be more cost effective than repairs.

I have a '74 361 parts truck with the top loader rears. The tag on the front driver says ODD PX314 5.78 , 20" spokes. If you think you could use them let me know.

The srdd rockwells are interchangeable with stdd and sudd . The sqdd top loaders are only 38000 rated and I believe are smaller so the will not fit your housings. I'm assuming the tag probably says qdd rather than odd.

I had STDD Rockwell drop ins (50,000 lb) in a IH Paystar and now have SRDD Rockwell drop ins (44,000 lb.) in a KW. Both housings look the same. The SUDD ( 55,000 lb.) drop in and housing are different than the 44 and 50,000 lb. rears and housings. Joe D.
