I've got the Kysor low air warning lamp on the right hand side of the dash next to the glovebox. It never worked since I've had the truck. My warning buzzer was intermittent, so i got a new one to replace it. When installing it, I noticed a few disconnected wires, tracked them down and hooked them up. They were for the Kysor light.

When I turned on the key the light went on as well as a very loud bell, which startled the hell out of me. I then remembered this sound as a kid in my Grandfather's Brockway and grinned from ear to ear! How cool. Scared the hell out of me back then as well. It goes off after about 10 seconds as air builds up, the buzzer stays on until 70 psi or so.

If you shut the truck off, it does come on for a few seconds when you turn on the ignition, even when aired up.

Question is this, is that normal? Did all 300 series come with the Kysor warning lamp/bell?

The Bell/Light is for low oil pressure, the buzzer is for air. Sounds like it's working right to me

If memory is correct, I believe high water temp is monitored as well as low oil pressure. All the 300 series we had at Russo had the Kysor Of Cadillac Warning Systems installed. Carl

I believe Carl is right... on my Dad's 361 there is a Kysor sending unit for the water temp and one for the oil pressure.
