I have the task ahead of me of cutting the holes in the fiberglass fenders for the headlights. To some of you on here this may be easy, I am hoping not to frig it up. Any advice on what to cut the holes with and any other ideas? without creating other problems for myself....See you in week! Hopefully with a pair of fiberglass fenders :) ....Brian
P.S. I think i might be close an authority on fender bracketry, I have looked at about four different types and came up with a set that seem to work better with the fiberglass fenders

Hi Brian...

I would use a jig saw to cut the holes for the headlights. I used a jig saw to cut the doors out on the Batmobile and it worked great. I just used a regular wood blade, but one with a few more teeth probably wouldn't hurt.

I would be interested to see which fender brackets you decided to use on the fenders. We are using glass fenders on the 361 and I have a a few different brackets laying around.

Brian - I have done two sets of glass fender and installed oval 300 windows in each. Are you doing 300 or 700? The trick is to cut to hole at least 1" above the top of the reinforcement cast(?) into the bottom of the front of the fender. I drilled a small 1/4" hole from inside at the lowest point I dared go above the reinforcement. Also cut the big hole undersized by a fair amount and then use a drum sander in a drill to open the hole further and smooth out the saw marks. Fine tuning if you want to call it that. Give me a call if you need a better explanation. Paul has my number.
