Sure Brian, come over for the War & Peace show
http://www.thewarandpeaceshow.com

Yes the Quick-way has its own engine, we were down the pub today wondering if it could lift its own engine out with the crane, now that would be cool 8)

Mick

As someone just said " Stay away from the Hercules diesel" My frienddly Diamond T historian here states that when new the would not make a self respecting boat anchor!!! Thewy were treouble from new and most have been scrapped.. plus Hercules parts are very scarce here in the states. 3 yrs ago it cost me $5000 to get the 236 CI engine rebuilt in my DT pickup.

Thanks Brocky, a few people over here have said the same thing about the Hercules diesel, my reasoning was that it would probably fit in without to much adaptation (and I know where there is one for sale) but after spending the last few weeks working on a DAF 825 turbo fitted into a 1943 Diamond T I think that’s the way to go, the T gearbox fits nicely to the DAF flywheel housing. I am hoping that the T and the Brockway will be similar running gear as they are both US Government contracts, only way to find out is try it.

Great video, thanks for the link. Is that really the original paint on your Brockway ? The truck looks to be in very decent shape. The Diamond T is impressive too. Have fun, Steve

Sure, I will not be back up the farm (where the truck is) until the weekend but I will get it then.

It's Alive!!! Thanks Mick for sharing that video, to me there's nothing more exciting than waking up and old dormant engine. Can wait to see the crane engine running too.

Thanks guys, she run up 60psi on the oil and surprisingly 60psi on the air tanks, it looks really promising.
We have to do the tyres next weekend, that way we can move her when we need to (under her own steam :D )

Hay Mick !! Way to go! My Dad, Uncle and Grandfather built those during the war and I've never seen one. Will definately visit some day in the future. Those of us here in the "Colonies" are impressed and grateful!!

Work on the Brockway has been going well the brakes and bearing have all looked good so far, so should have her rolling soon.
For a quick break on hubs we decided to have a play with the crane engine, we managed to get her to turn over.
Our problem is that the crane engine (an International U9 Engine) has Marchal Corindon spark plugs with no code numbers, just the words “Marchal Corindon “
They are pretty bid and not like anything I have see before.

Film of first turn over :D
