Brockways still making money

Postby Brockway761 » Sun Sep 02, 2007 2:55 pm

Hello, Im new to this forum, and I thought I would share a few pics of our Brockways. We have 3 tri-axles, one tandem, and one 761 parts truck. We use these trucks almost every day hauling coal off-road. I am very happy to say these trucks were bought NEW, hauled coal for my paps company back in the 70's, and now hauling coal for us off-road. My truck is the 761, and the pics make it look worse than it is. These pics were taken acouple months ago on a rainy/foggy morning before work. The 361 was re-painted, and just got the walking beams re-bushed. The frame is bad, and rusted up. I dont want to ramble to much, but here are the pics. Coments and questions are welcome. I plan on re-storing these trucks when were not using them. Hope you enjoy the pics!

The Snub-noise now has the bumper back on, and has a strait pipe!

Ill get more next weekend of the tandem, and better pics of my 761.

Thanks, Nick

Very nice pics, so glad to see (but not surprised) that Brockways are still earning their keep.

Just goes to show you - even an old dog can still earn it's keep. Stan 8)

Here is a pic of the 700. I drove this truck when it was brought here in 06. When I went to school in the winter, one of our drivers backed into an excavator boom, and knocked the right tank off. I begged my grandfather to get one and stick it on, but I got one of those remarks," The truck is so old, and falling apart, theres no use. You only need one tank anyway" I was upset. The stack was knocked off by my cousin going under a conveyor. Drivers these days.

Here's the inside of the 631.

And here is a pic when I was driving the 631 before I got my 761. My cousin is in the Snub-Noise. My dad is loading us.

I learned to drive when I was 14. They told me to jump in the truck and haul. I had a co-pilot for 2 loads, then I was on my own. Now im 16, and take better care of my truck than the other drivers. Although Im in school at the momment, and hope no one is abbusing my truck.

Forgot to say that when I went to work Saturday, I was checking out our tandem Brockway, and noticed someone stole the dog off the front!  It had to be an inside job as the one worker down there was asking tons of questions about our huskies, and wanted one for his pickup. He wanted the one off my 761! I told him there is no way he is getting the huskies off our trucks, and that I would get him one off e-bay, which I lied because I would keep it for myself if I find one. People just want everything these days.

Once again, thanks for sharing. It's one thing to see these trucks at shows but it's quite another thing to see them in their natural environment. Can't be beat.

Keep em coming when you got time!

Sorry, I meant 361, it gets confusing typing all the numbers, 361, 761, 700, and so on. lol
