2017 show

Postby Huskiedrive2 » Mon Aug 14, 2017 8:58 am

Another great show has come and gone. Other than a free truck wash (rain) at 3pm on Saturday, it was a perfect weekend. Good food, good friends and spectacular trucks! Who could ask for more? Personally I enjoyed seeing old friends and catching up on the latest Brockway news! See you all next year. Stan

What a great Show folks!

A GREAT BIG THANKS to all the folks behind the scenes that make this possible!!!! :!: :!:

It was great to see old friends and visit, catch up, and see some new trucks.

Great to see some new young blood involved.

The weather was great (not a scorcher like last year)

Hope everyone made it home incident free!!

We also missed some people this year, and hope they are all doing better and will see them again soon! (YOU WERE MISSED!!!)

Again THANKS to all that make this possible!!! :D :D :D

My wife and I had a great time. Italian dinner Friday night was good, then Saturday morning we rode through the parade on the back of Chad Crawford's 358, and then got to meet some people and put faces to names from here.

We really had a great time as well... It was a treat driving the 155W with the Cummins. A little different ride than years past!

Thanks to everyone who asked about my Dad, it was greatly appreciated. We really have a lot of great Brockway friends...

I had a wonderful time. It was one of the best shows. The people have become as important as the trucks to me. However, the bus, red fire truck, white coe, and the blue and white coe were really fun to see with their owners. I am re-energized to work on some of mine!

A lot of planning and hard work goes into pulling off this Great annual gathering of BrockwaY lovers. If people would preregister, it will be a great help in planning.
Had to go out and resupply food for Saturday night and Sunday morning, plus it would help at the registration desk to move more quickly if the trucks were preregistered.

Perhaps we should consider having a truck show registration desk available at the Friday night dinner also. That might ease some of the backlog on Main St on Saturday.

Sunday, while at the gas station in North Adams on rte 2 just below the hair-pin turn I hear a noise coming up the road getting louder as it gets near. I said to my friend, hey that sounds like a Detroit. Then in view is a beautiful 361. It said Fitchburg, MA on the door. I was like "wow, don't see that everyday". Then, I said "awwwww...#$%(*F@#$%(*!$@#%FF(*!$%(*#$%!!!!!!!!!!!........gosh darnit, I missed the Brockway show! For some reason I thought it was later in the month. I guess now I will be admiring all the pictures you guys post.

Stan,
Each year we get fewer volunteers to help with the show. A table on Friday night is a nice idea, but if people could just fill out the registration form when it comes in the mail and mail it in, then the forms would be made out in advance for the show and take a lot of hustle off Shirley's crews back and make planning easier for meals etc.

All of your comments are spot on, Great show, Great people, Great trucks, goes by at warp speed, wish there was more time so I could meet all the Brockway owners I don't know. We have a Great thing here and I often ask myself?? Does any other truck brand have a welcoming in their hometown where main street gets shutdown to feature the hometown brand? Where there is a parade of 125 or more trucks with the residents of Cortland showing appreciation with waves and thumbs up etc. Add to that an awesome fireworks show, an auction, great food and a museum featuring Brockway trucks. We even have our own beer Brockway beer! Us Brockway guys are blessed, perhaps that is why we all have the passion and the common bond between us.

Thanks Paul

What Paul said.
I grew up liking Brockway's. The first truck I rode/sat in. Rugged, yet beautiful design.
Then in 2012, on a motorcycle ride, I passed thru Cortland on a Saturday around 3:30 in August. What The Devil! There are Brockway trucks EVERYWHERE! I stopped at the museum.
(Sidenote-What happened to all the HESS trucks since then?) I found out that Brockways were built an hour from home(as close as than the dealer Windham TWP bought there's from-Elmira). I never knew that. People told me I ought to come back next year. I did. And I met some of the nicest most friendly people I know. And knowledge! WOWSER's! These people are committed.
What I'm saying is. The Trucks are great. Perfect even. BUTT. It's you folks that got me involved. You are all so nice. And Helpful. Well, what I mean is... It is YOUR own dang fault that I joined. Don't blame any one individual for bringing me in. It was all ya'll's fault!
See some of ya at Harford Sept 3rd. The rest of ya-NEXT YEAR. And the following, and the one after that!!!! Wish I lived close enough to be a volunteer. Or contribute in some way.

A BIG thank you to all of the BTPA people who worked so hard all weekend.. Nelle and I enjoyed it very much.. It was great to see all the trucks and visit with friends I had not seen in 3 years. Even met an older man on Main Street who in the course of conversation I found out I went to high school with his younger brother.. Brockway trucks makes a large world much smaller..
