Back in 2012 Andy Hill let me tag along with the "Uncle Sam Chapter" to Bill Craib's yard to view and photo some real classics. You could see a lot from the road as I had in the past, but there were a few hidden treasures behind things, not visible from the road.

One was this ex Gundrum Lumber U360, the Detroit 12V71 sat on the ground after being returned from another Company, that borrowed it to power a piece of machinery.

At its new home in CT, the engine was returned back into a truck Motor, reinstalled into the U360 and is running great, according to the new owner.....

Thanks for posting the pictures John. Mark did a great job getting this truck back together, awesome to see pics of it running again! Cool paint scheme too. Bring it to the show next year Mark.

I lived in Brunswick, NY about 10 miles from Grafton where Gundrum ran a pair of them. Used to come up behind me and apply the Jakes. Loved the sound. Went to the auction where one sold for $7700 and the second one went for a lot more. I was building a house and didn't have the funds. They were very tired when they went to auction.

Rynard Jr would love to own one of them again. They actually had 3 of them besides 84935 and 84936. Wonder where it went..

Anytime this U360 came up in conversation and someone asked me about the engine, I'd always refer to it as a "boat anchor", because knowing that it sat on the ground for at least four years, I thought there was no hope for it........wrong!

Mark pulled the pan and everything looked fine.

Part of the radiator was hacked by the Berlin scrap thieves, which is why it's not connected....

That's awesome its in the truck and running, is he going to restore all the way or leave the patina?
