Joe D's second place at Harford PA

Postby dockmen027 » Mon Sep 01, 2014 11:50 am

.....in the slow truck race. The former Town of Covert 361 Brockway Snowplow, with it's 250 Cummins and a 5 and a 4 two stick transmission, had to be quite a truck back in the day, and it still is.

It came down to these two trucks in the Championship Race, the first photo is Tom M. staging Joe, and the second is moments before the launch....

Usually the winner can be seen within the first 25 feet or less but this one went all the way to the wire, with a photo finish......

You got me in your last shot. Sorry for wrecking an otherwise nice photo.

The slow truck race was very competitive this year. I caught some of the comings and goings of this fine old truck.

Congratulations Joe! Second place in a vintage Brockway is better than 1st place in a Mack any day. Truck still looks good!

That's a classic looking old Brockway. Probably didn't look much different back in its working life. Don't change a thing!
