pt270 motor

Postby myfirstbrockway » Tue Jul 01, 2014 10:38 pm

Somebody tell me once again how to tell the pt270 motor. I might have located one but I need to know how to tell if it is one by looking at it. I got the roof from Double Dog delivered by R&L Carriers(wasn't a good experience) but Double Dog is a great person and I really enjoyed dealing with him. Also if anyone knows where a huskidrive rear end is I still need one. Thanks Leonard

Best way is to look at strip on accessory drive. It will give information you need. A PT 270 will have a turbo no aftercooler.Other than deciphering serial # that is best way I know of. Joe D.

CPL will say it all.. as far as what engine is "supposed" to be. PT270s are all pretty old by now if one can be found at all. I can't be 100% sure ,but I do believe GandG Towing in Carbondale has a 4000 series White with one in it. If I remember correctly it came out of one of the old Naro Husky Drives...and I even just happen to know who has the rest of that truck too. 5 speed, and Eaton 2speed rears.

It was a pleasure doing business with you too Leonard. To bad R&L Carriers weren't a bit better to deal with.
Looks like we have some leads for the Huskidrive rears. You may have to make a trip to the Northeast to find what you need though. I'm sure Brockway trucks are hard to find in Alabama.

Leonard, are you planning to make your Huskidrive a single axel or a tandem? I have a rear from a single axel Huskidrive tractor. Also if you need reference I would be glad to email you pics of my truck to help in your restoration good luck Paul six o seven 343-5594
