Can anyone enlighten me on the parade route? I'm planning to shoot video and want find an opportune spot. Suggestions for the section that carries the most speed or on a corner (or both?) would be preferable. Also is all traffic shut down on the route or just the direction of travel?

Route 13 (Tomkins St & Port Watson St) and Main Street is a wide intersection with a nice couple story brick building in the backround, a lot of photos are taken there. There is usually a cop directing traffic there, so he may let 10 trucks thru and stop the parade and let traffic proceed.

I have taken my parade pictures from in front of the Econolodge on Church Street. I can get pictures of a whole line as they come into the intersection and then a close up of an individual truck with a neat church in the background. There is a cop under the light who stops the parade at intervals and lets the cross traffic run thru.

Here's the info I rec'd when I emailed the same question to the BTPA folks:

The show headquarters on Saturday, August 11 will be the registration table located in front of Alliance Bank at 65 Main Street in Downtown Cortland.

The parade leaves the museum at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 11 and proceeds south on Route 11 which
turns into Homer Avenue then onto North Main Street; turns onto Grant Street then onto Church Street to
Huntington Street and onto South Main Street where the trucks will cross Tompkins/Port Watson Street
and enter Main Street going the wrong way (Main Street is a one-way street). The best place to park is
anywhere you find a parking lot along the previously mentioned parade route (there are several lots).
Hopefully all of the trucks will be parked on Main Street but if need be we will use Court Street and
West Court Street.

Thanks, that detail helps a bunch. I'm thinking I can catch them turn from N.Main to Grant and then perhaps quick jaunt down Main will allow me to get back to the front of the line as they begin to back into their spaces. Then I can work my way to the back down the line from there.
