Jeff - you're right on with the snub-nose and high cab. Short wheelbase and high horsepower. Emery - front axle position, Brockway marketed the 361 against the 360 as it having a better turning radius, and higher axle load capacity for construction applications. Forward set axle was better in on-highway drive-ability and steering ease. It also gave the parts dept. something to do stocking more parts!!!

So, The longer wheelbase 360, which was the first model, handled better on the highway, but the set back axle, 361 had a shorter wheelbase and better turn radius as well as higher GVW.

Is that correct?

So then, how does the 358 and 359 fit in?
BTW Thanks!

358 and 359 had short BBC (bumper to back of cab) length to allow use of longer trailers and still make Overall Length Laws. 359 - cab was elevated 8" to allow room for a turbocharged high horsepower engine.
