1976, 761 tractor

Postby 358LL » Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:14 pm

I have a few pics of my latest purchace , 761, 89707,saved from a scrap auction, had to fight off the scrapers for this heavey haul lowboy tractor, but well worth it and only 15 miles away. It has a 350 small cam with jake and 13 sp rr , 5.29 rears, double frame ,11.00 22. rubber and wet line.It is in really desent shape for being in the woods for 6+years.I had it towed back to my garage and got it running and driving in about 2 hrs worth of work. Its now in the garage geting the rust repaired and should be ready for paint soon.I cant wait to take her out on the road when she is finised and hopfully to the show.

Great save!! It always amazes me that trucks will just get left in the middle of the woods for years and even decades. I mean who just drives their truck in the woods and leaves it there to rot?

I just cant belive that there where guys there that would have scraped this truck along with the other junk that was there ! It cleaned up nice after a pressure wash to remove all of the mold but needs roof repair , holes in roof by ac unit and drip rail. I will post more pics soon. Sam.

Wow, glad I came in for lunch, another great find. With all these new trucks coming out of the woodwork this Cortland Show should be the biggest yet, can't wait. May have to park a line down the center of Main street though.

speaking of fenders, a guy the other day was cleaning out his garage and practically gave me a set of nice 700 steel fenders. and on top of that, i was digging in the trailer the other day and found a nice set of fiberglass too. its nice to have parts safe and sound.

RZ- you have fenders?!? I've been searching for a nice set of fenders! I'll pay whatever you gotta have for a pair, and you'll still have a spare set. Fiberglass or steel, it doesn't matter to me, I just need fenders to complete my truck. Money is not a problem.
