This past week I was in NY on our yearly snowmobile trip. We usually plan the trip months in advance and typically we get record snowfall at home when we're gone. This trip was no exception. We got almost 2' of snow! Fortunately my Dad plowed while I was gone so at least I was able to pull in my driveway when I got home...
If you remember, 3 years ago on my trip I found a 361 near an old drive-in theatre. Last year we went back there and the truck was gone. For the last few years we have been staying in Lowville which is right in the Tug Hill region. The snow was great and the trails were groomed if you stayed on the hill, but if you ventured off the hill, snow became sparce and you were riding in mud.
We had heard the trails toward Redfield were good, so on our 4th day of riding, we headed towards the Cedar Pine Inn for lunch. As soon as we rode into the parking lot, I spotted the back of a 300 series truck... so I took a quick detour to check it out... Sure enough, it was a plow truck with BUDS all around (picture me with a BIG SMILE).
So for pic of the week we have a 1970 N361L-15-71619 that looks like it was originally fitted with a wing plow. The pass side front fender looks like a construction fender that was angled to fit the plow bracing, and the driver side fender looks like a glass replacement. It also has a huge chunk of concrete on the back of it for weight.
