This is a picture of one of the later Ruffalo/Santino Trucking Brockways.
I purchased this truck from Herr's Motor Express out of Canandaigua, New York in the mid 90's.Herr's had bought out Ruffalo/Santino Trucking.
A good friend of mine was a mechanic/driver for Santino's and has many good stories to tell about this truck going to New York hauling can goods. When Herr's purchased the company he went to work for Herr's as their head mechanic and used the truck as a tow truck , "Happy Hooker".
As you mentioned most all of their trucks were blue with this one as the exception, the line sheet has them ordering it in red.
I sold the truck to friend Doug Fetterly who actually did some trucking with it for a while, he has since sold the truck.
This truck came with a 220 Cummins and later was changed to a 270 with a 10 speed.

I found this pic of Ruffalo's. My dad worked for Nick Santino for a Short time. They had 2 of these 361's. the ruffalo trucks were sharp units especially when hooked to a rag top van. They also had 2 B-61's. I knew many great drivers from there, many of them are gone now. My dad's tractor was "K-1" a 257. It had a 250 w/16spd. air spicer, tag axel. Green interior w/ a black wheel. they had an identical one but can't remember the #

The only 359 S/A that I ever saw. All the others were twin screws. This may have been an inline 6 cummins. All others were 903's, Except for Dale P's tractor's. A 359, and 759 Both w/855 block Cummins As shown

The 359 and 759 were the trucks Dale drove. He pulled a fuel tank alot w/ them. You could tell his truck they were the only one's that were different, both w/ 855 cummins, Chrome Luberfiners, Bug shields. The 759 had dual air horns, air ride suspension and the stainless farr air cleaner cover. Dale was a great guy, He went to work For B.R. DeWitt after PYX closed. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago. Here is Unit# 999 again. This was the only Brockway CONWAY kept when they bought them out. They painted it Conway colors, and later was bought by JOHN FERRIS ( GREEN MACKS) between Bath and Hammondsport N.Y. He had it for sale about 10yrs. ago. I think it may have had a 350 cummins in it. The cab was pretty rough @ the time. I wonder what ever happened to it. Well anyways R.I.P. DALE

N.C. Purdie had a small terminal in Flint N.Y.( Halfway between Geneva and Canandaguia on 5&20). When I remember them they had 359's with 8V-71 Detroits, and 743 and maybe some 855 block Cummins. They also had International Fleetstars w/cummins. They were very nice, Until Howards express bought them out. Somewhere there are pics of the 359's out there. I have to ask a friend of mine ( Bill Clyde who work for them and then retired from Howards) if he has any. This was taken @ Flint N.Y. Looking out @ 5&20

Fleets are made up of at least 3 trucks, but this company had 2. On Sundays my parents would go for a drive, we'd get some ice cream cones and then take my brother and myself to TRUCKTOWN in Geneva( that would be good for an hour or so). I liked it when my Dad would take N.Y. 5 and U.S. 20, or in the Fingerlakes, we call it 5&20. Between Geneva and Waterloo on the corner of Packwood rd. sat a little gas station, an old one like from like the 30's, Big ol' canopy, couple of pumps and some oil cans in a rack, big storage tanks out back next to the R.R. Tracks, and a fuel rack next to the road (on the 5&20 side) with 2 BROCKWAYS under it. They were 257's, one with a green steering wheel the other had a black one. I just loved these as a kid and watched them over the years. One day when out for a drive we were getting close to there and as impatient as kids are, i saw it in sight, but something was different, so I said stop! They had gotten rid of the black wheeled 257 and replaced it with a new 361. They were always a Highlight on our sunday drives. Big Cummins Powered S/A's, 220 and probably 250(that was big for the 60's). OH,The smell of RAW diesel next to them(NO, I did not cut myself. Although I'm sure I'd bleed it). These two tractors took care of all there little stations throughout the fingerlakes region. They are all gone and Express Mart owns them now. All that is left is this pic of the 1966 "GREEN WHEELED" 257 from a near head on collision with another truck

Kyle,
Is the Dorn's photo something off the net or is it a personal photo, I've never seen it before, are there more?

Man!! Wouldn't that be a find to restore? What exactly was the BUDA diesel??? What was it most likely paired with?

Emery You beat me to it on what a find. Could it be factory installed as a prototype? I thought Brockway used Continental Diesels before any other. Cab looks good and factory sleeper, what a bonus. I hope someone has more info on it or if it still exists. Trans I would think 5X2 speed rear or possible 5 Main 3 speed Aux. Joe D.
