Whitey's treasures

I spent a good portion of the day with him. A really great man. I saw his grandson Brian @ the show this year, and he told me that he had passed away

I was in Virginia and these were located outside Hazelton Pa. The man who owned this was Whitey. I know there is a pic of one of these Stegmaier Beer tru...

Re: Brockway Pic of the Week 10-22-12

The picture was taken in 1967 @ the IH dealer in Milwaukee Wi. I think it maybe a Mercury sleeper. It is not a W series Ford day cab next to it. I have eliminated all these so far. Brockway,Dodge 1000, Diamond T, Reo, Diamond Reo, Ford H and W series, GMC, IH Emeryville, 4000, and 4070. Kenworth all...

Re: Brockway fleets

[quote="Screamin DD"]N.C. Purdie had a small terminal in Flint N.Y.( Halfway between Geneva and Canandaguia on 5&20). When I remember them they had 359's with 8V-71 Detroits, and 743 and maybe some 855 block Cummins. They also had International Fleetstars w/cummins. They were very nice...

Re: Advertising the museum

There's a cabover on the roof of a truck repair garage on 83 heading towards Baltimore (maybe closer to York Pa) I've seen that many of times, Tom. It's a 362 double bunk Pete. I think what you are refering to Glen was a White Road Commander w/ a dry box trailer, Elevated along side the NYS Thruway...

Re: Waiting to Pull

Is it me or is the guy on the John deere texting? I'd say that being he is a hard working Farm boy, he is probably picking the calluses on his hands. Any drivers from the non-power steering era knows what I'm talking about. Wouldn't have that problem with that tractor, as I recall, all the 30 serie...

Re: Ride Along with Screamin DD

Little too cold for the ice cream Stretch. Brian I was seriously going to. My friend Charlie Hackett that has the CF truck was going to take off work a couple days. We figured about 32 hrs out and 45 to 50 back. Would have been a fun story, HUH?

Re: Ride Along with Screamin DD

Yeah it was fun, Eric. That 4th gear is a little unforgiving with the synco gone. The speedometer is about 8mph off cause it was set for 20" rubber instead of 22". It tops out @66. Between you and John aka Dockman, you bring these DOGS to life. Thanks for videoing it, I'm sure everone will...
