Re: Roadranger Operating Temps

Carl is right. You'll never see heat in that trans unless you're working the truck. The 903 360 had gauges for tranny and both rears. The highest I ever saw was about 160-170 after running highway speeds from Elmira to Harford.

Re: E361T Progress - 671 to 671T

That's nice work Tom. I like the idea of having a heavy receiver type hitch on the back end and plan to do something similar to my 360. Makes the truck more "versatile."

Re: MESSAGE BOARD MAINTENANCE

While the discussion board was down, the webmaster attempted to upload some new software, since our website format is nearly obsolete. Given that our legacy data is so large, he was not able to get this accomplished. The BTPA board decided to bring the website back online in it's original configurat...

Re: For sale thread

It's a good idea Brandon, sadly just not many people here anymore.
I've still got some Brockway extras, but with a new project now, I might need to dip into the inventory. I do have a few 359 parts I won't ever use.

Re: My return from retirement

Got side tracked into a small project that really isn't ready to be done at this point in the restoration, but like a true pack rat, I like shiny things. I had a chrome pre-cleaner and an air cleaner box stored away in the barn. Since the air cleaner on the 360 is pretty much toast, I decided to dig...

Re: My return from retirement

While waiting for the floor panels I thought I would repair the minor rust damage at the bottom of the back of the cab. Here again, rust is caused by moisture getting trapped between two layers of unprotected metal, the cab back panel and the reinforcement plate that runs across the bottom of the in...

Re: My return from retirement

After installing the thresholds, I moved on to repairing the rust damage to the base of the cowl just ahead of the A pillar. This is a common problem area for rust damage on the 300 series cab. A pocket which collected dirt/moisture is created by the joining of the A pillar, the cowl sheet metal, an...

Re: My return from retirement

First up was to repair the floor of the replacement cab and convert it from a doghouse cab (it came off a 359) to a flat floor cab suitable for a 360. Tom Kile had the cab in his inventory and we were able to strike a deal. Although the exterior of the cab is nearly perfect, the thresholds/rocker pa...

My return from retirement

Most of you know I sold my Brockways and retired from ownership staying on solely as a Brockway tech adviser and enthusiast. After 43 years of being involved in the world of Brockway (I started in 1976 at the factory branch in Elmira) I have come to realize I have Brockway in my heart and diesel fue...

Re: A Couple of Images on Facebook

Cool pictures Carl. Thanks for posting! I really like those oval shaped tankers from the 40's and 50's, especially those having the sloped tail end with an access ladder up the center.

Re: 81 Chevy Stepside Pickup - Round 3

After a thorough cleaning, you could also seal the AC box with some clear coat to be sure of no odors.
