Re: Shepherd power sterring box swap

Brian,
Just like Stan said.
I did the same thing on Stix Mixer.
Not to bad of a job.
Just beware.... That steering box is heavier than it looks.
I put my engine hoist on it to lift out unit I could
get a better grip... Even then it is a heavy piece.

Good luck!!

Re: Had to be one of us...

If you click on photo and blow up top of sleeper you will see the brockway name.

He brought his truck into our Albany yard last week.
One our techs know I'm into Brockways so he sent the photo.

Keep spreading the joy!!!

Re: 4 x 4 Pick-up w/plow

Found a Brockway :?: :?:
Any details or top secret yet??

Ahhh the fever.

PS thanks for the tranny info! Doc.
Still working at it, now that I have big shop air, those yokes came off with ease. Got all the gaskets and seals, starting to clean and prep for reinstall.

Re: JD George's Picture of the Day

That display of Paul's chassis was one of the best! I had some folks walking around it when I was there....they had no idea what really goes on under the sheet metal exterior of a truck. Paul is doing a fantastic job with this unit. Hats off to another dedicated Brockway nut, that is willing to shar...

Re: All show...but NO GO!!

You know what i found interesting is that i don't think either gear box has been apart. Notice the nice clean paint on the output shaft flange. paint isn't even broken, If i remember correctly on the build sheet the original color was green for the whole truck. I realize that the cab has been rework...

Re: 155W Continental to Cummins Upgrade

Very nice!!
Tom... Maybe you already know.. But carefully inspect the front timing cover
they are prone to cracking.
We had a couple in our service trucks, that was the only issue we had.
Other than that, if well maintained, great engines !

Looking good guys!!
Keep us posted!
