Re: Clam Bake

As far as I'm concerned, the clam bake is still on. I will be there not only for the clams, but the other selection of food. In my eyes, the clam bake always receives a good turn out and everyone shoots the bull. It's like a pre game for the big show. So for all that has read the previous post, I am...

Re: Thrown out design with a facelift?

An RB 688 or 690 both have the setback front axles. Same as the DM690S or 688S. Both have the set back look and not the flat nose and bumper. Both were built in mid to late 1980's and I think the last year they were built were into the 2004-05 ish. While the R-model or RD was discontinued around 02-...

Re: Thrown out design with a facelift?

If you look up Mack RB and change it to images, it will show you the USA version of it. Its a R-model set back front axle. Instead of a Mack hood and bumper being flat, it has a set back look to it. Im not saying this New Zealand Mack is the Brockway superliner, obviously years have passed since Bro...

Re: Thrown out design with a facelift?

Don't know how this all came about. It is very interesting though. I don't know if anyone knew about this design on the board but it was news to me when I found it. Have a country pretty much on the other side of the earth produce what looks to be pretty close to the design from 1978. They must have...

Thrown out design with a facelift?

These pics are what I stumbled on by accident on google. Its New Zealand's version of a RB Mack. Doesn't look anything like the ones here but has a remarkable resemblance of something else...........

Re: Frame restoration question

i was going to leave the rivets alone on some of my builds. but thats the thing, it limits you from how far down you are disassemblembling. personally i would take them out and replace them with grade 8 bolts.

Late winter early spring project (warning Mack related)

We have decided to get back into the septic tank cleaning business and were having a hard time finding a low milage truck that met our specs for a vacuum truck. Just thought I would post it on here because of the board being slow. We bought it in March and have been feverishly working on it to get i...

Re: Brockway cab compared to a Mack cab

Also forgot to mencion. The cab on the Brockway was originally a standard non plus three cab, and in the end result is now a plus three. Everything lines up, the rear bolts for the cab line up, all comes together like it should. Now I did use the mack roof vent, I personally like the spot better up ...

Re: Brockway cab compared to a Mack cab

After it was all welded with minimal body work I put some interior paint on the inside, primed the outside, and painted base coat clear coat for color. It was my first time trying the base coat clear coat and was pleased with the result. Hope this helps.

Re: Brockway cab compared to a Mack cab

I wasnt happy with the cost of the mack rocker panels so I ended up bending them up and making my own out of 10 gauge steel. I was very happy with the result.
