Re: Thank You!

You know this show has a die hard loyal following when you look down Main Street, it's pouring rain and all you see is a hundred umbrellas!!! Tom Or in the case of my wife and I, not even the rain stopped us from riding through the parade on the back of Chad Crawford's 358. Quite a few people still...

Re: Auction in MD

Ended up getting involved in something else that weekend and didn't go, so have no clue what happened to it.

Auction in MD

https://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/3064478.html

72 Brockway tandem dump with V8 Detroit. Body looks to be in good shape, just rusty. I might go to this one since it isn't too far away just to see it sell, probably won't be bidding.

Re: Huskie Drive 2017

Nice job on all the videos. Thanks for taking the time and the use of your new Go pro to make the video. I still want to see if the " mooing" came out on a certain shotgun riders comments.  Stretch 8) I watched it just to see if I could hear that after I heard you telling Chad ...

Re: Engine prefixes

One new prefix to add to the list, and two that were recycled. G for an 6V71 Detroit, and D (which was used in the 200 series for the JT6B Cummins) for the 8V53 Detroit. These came from a 400 series brochure I found on here, I saw these on the Tandem Tractor Line sheet I found on ebay yesterday but ...

Re: Engine prefixes

Found a few new prefixes today while searching Brockway stuff on ebay, stumbled on cut sheets for a D258W and D255W, which had a Cummins JT6B engine, and a Brockway Tandem Tractor Line spec sheet which lists a W459TL, which had a Cummins V8-265. Current list: A=Detroit Diesel 6V53 B=Continental 42B ...

Re: Engine prefixes

What I'm finding says NHE180 and NHE195 are economy versions of the NH220, and the NH180 and NH195 are 672 cid engines that are basically a smaller bore version of a 743 cid Cummins, there might be a few other differences. The bore of the 672 is 4 7/8 and the 743 is 5 1/8, supposedly the 5 1/8 liner...

Re: Engine prefixes

So I did some more digging and figured out that in the 776s, a C prefix is the Cat 3208, so that means that the 6V92 must've been the L prefix. So here's the updated list. Steve, the NH-180 and NH-195, now that I do a little more research into those engines themselves, were those actually 672 cid en...

Re: Engine prefixes

I had found those but didn't find anything saying what engines were in those trucks, so in the 200 series the different Cummins engines were given a unique prefix for each one (even though they were all in the 743 family of engines) but the 300 series grouped all the 855 Cummins engines into the sam...

Re: Engine prefixes

That's where I found the majority of them, but there are a few that aren't listed over there that I found mentioned on here. That's my reason for making this post, nowhere seems to show a complete list, so I put together everything I could find to try to make one.

Engine prefixes

Ok, so something I've been thinking of and trying to figure out lately is the complete list of all the prefixes Brockway used for all the various engines they used. As far as I can tell, engine prefixes didn't come into use until the late 200 series trucks, and became standard with the 300 series, s...

Re: 2017 show

My wife and I had a great time. Italian dinner Friday night was good, then Saturday morning we rode through the parade on the back of Chad Crawford's 358, and then got to meet some people and put faces to names from here.

That's the only list I've ever seen that lists the suffixes but that one isn't on there.

Model Number suffixes

I was looking at a 361 an hour from here today (I last saw the truck 4 years ago and wanted to see if it still existed). The full model number was N361TLY, I know that TL means it was a tandem axle tractor, but what does the Y at the end mean? I searched that model on here and came up with one truck...

My wife and I had a great time at the show Sunday, first time we had been to that one. Definitely want to make it back again next year.

Brockway sighting in MD

Caught a glimpse of this truck on the way home from work last night, in a construction site across from the airport in Hagerstown. Normally I don't even go that way but traffic was backed up on route 11 from everyone being on there due to a wreck on interstate 81. I went by again this morning to mak...

Re: Photos from the Show

A lot of nice trucks there. My wife and I were planning on coming up this year but something came up the weekend before the show and forced us to cancel the trip, hopefully next year.

Re: Group Photo

Hopefully the weather is nice for everyone on Saturday. My wife and I were planning on coming up again this year but a family emergency changed those plans, we are thinking about making a trip up to the museum in 2 weeks, and then going to Harford on the 4th to see what all shows up there to get our...

Re: Well, The Chadillac and I headed out. I'm back.

Kinda like my pickup truck which I have had for years and put tens of thousands of miles on and make one trip this Sunday and blew the water pump gasket on it. 25 year old truck and hasn't had anything done to the motor other than spark plugs a few years ago and oil changes. Decided it was time for ...
