Re: Picked up a project today

Hey guys... thought I might jump in here . Woodee, if it hasn’t run in a awhile... make sure you have a way to killl the engine if it starts. You may want to use just a small container of fuel first , so if it starts and does something unexpected you can take the fuel away. The newer fuel has less s...

Re: Ever had this happen??

Further development.. Important must read::: If you ever get a takeoff pump or one that has been sitting... DO NOT just hook up and go. To get my truck going we tried a takeoff pump from a similar hp engine. Checked the tags... should be good to go. Well...? Strike two... I put the pump on, flushed ...

Re: Ever had this happen??

Update... Got a good lesson from a local pump shop. The obvious cause was the governor flyweight to governor plunger shaft being misaligned. Other than that...doing the shaft seal was a easy fix. With the governor plunger stuck and no resistance to the governor and idle springs .. unlimited fuel is ...

Re: Ever had this happen??

Oh yeah... forgot to add... Yes I know I could have misaligned the drive tab on the flyweight, but if it popped out I would assume ( I said assume) the other governor spring would have not let it come off idle... Then I also said it jammed the governor plunger IN... which would have put the plunger ...

Re: Fix “Mixer”

This is my somewhat finished product... Not perfect.... but looks 98% better than before. Replaced the rubber oil lines with aluminum braided Teflon hoses. While I was doing that I noticed the power steering pump suction lines were dripping so now that’s the next oil leak to tackle. I removed the 1 ...

Re: Fix “Mixer”

Yeah... there is always something to tinker with. Saving the big job for this fall ... I have a fair amount of blow by coming out crankcase breather. So I’m gonna bite the bullet and do a inframe. I’m thinking this high crankcase pressure is also contributing to the leaks. But that is a after show s...

Fix “Mixer”

Nothing like some last minute repairs .... My wife and I went for our first ice cream run a week ago to get the dust off Stick Mixer and noted a few, bothersome issues. 1) the alt belt has always loosened up due to a bent pulley behind the vibration dampener. Cause: rust corrosion between the pulley...
